The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and international football association FIFA have hailed the reforms introduced by Qatar to protect the human rights of migrant workers. Qatar’s efforts drew praise during a seminar held in Brussels by the European Parliament, which discussed the importance of respecting human rights standards and laws during the organisation of major sporting events.
