It is with profound sorrow and deep sadness that the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kathmandu mourns the passing of His Highness the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who returned to the mercy of Almighty Allah on the morning of Sunday, 12 July 2026.

Today, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, the Embassy celebrated the Sports Day of the State of Qatar in Kathmandu, Nepal, in line with the vision of His Highness Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to encourage sports and consolidate its values within the Qatari culture and society. The Embassy organized the sports festival, which included a number of games with the participation of the Mission members and all Embassy staff.
