His Highness Emir of the State of Qatar opens Qatar National Library and presents a beacon of knowledge to the world

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani officially inaugurated the Qatar National Library at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. The event, was attended by representatives of Kings, heads of states and international personalities from 52 countries.
Based on its mission as a research library with distinguished heritage contents, it would spread and strengthen deep international vision for the history and culture of the Arabian Gulf, and offers for citizens and residents an equal opportunity to use its premises, equipment and services which support creation and independent decision making of its visitors and develop their cultural knowledge, as well as its pioneer role in the library and cultural heritage sector.
The library would support Qatar’s National Development trajectory, to transform from dependence on natural resources to variation of economic sources and economic sustainability through making available the required knowledge sources for students, researchers and all who live in the State of Qatar equally, to strengthen education opportunities for life, and empower individuals and communities and contribute to provide better future for all.
