On the margins of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to Burkina Faso, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Qatar Fund For Development and the Republic of Burkina Faso with the aim of providing financial support to establish a radiation therapy centre in Ouagadougou.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by His Excellency Khlaifa bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of QFFD, on behalf of the State of Qatar, and Mrs Hadizatou Coulibaly-Sori, Minister of Economy, Finance and Development on behalf of the Republic of Burkina Faso’s government.
The memorandum of understanding aims to establish a radiation therapy centre for treating tumours, with the objective of providing cancer patients in Ouagadougou with advanced services, through a grant of $13,867,772 from the State of Qatar to Burkina Faso’s government.
Qatar Fund for Development reiterated the importance of this support to establish the radiation therapy centre, as it will contribute to improving the quality of the treatment provided to cancer patients, and provide advanced medical services to patients with different types of cancer, in addition to providing integrated radiation therapy services within the highest standards of quality.
