Qatar Red Crescent provides 250,000 US dollars in relief aid to floods affected communities in Nepal

Qatar Red Crescent donated relief items valued 250,000 US dollars, In rapid response to the disaster situation in Nepal due to seasonal floods and landslides which resulted in big of loss of lives and injuries among local people.

Qatar Red Crescent will manage an operation for 3 months where it will focus on relief of shelter and non-food items, as well as sanitation, targeting 1,000 families (5,000 individuals) in the affected areas, in collaboration with the Nepali Red Cross.

Nepal has experienced a series of natural disasters during the previous years , which affected the infrastructure , local markets, and power and communications networks. While still the country is grappling for recovery from effects of the 2015 earthquake.  Qatar Red Crescent established an office in Nepal in order to help  in reconstruction and emergency relief in line with the humanitarian role of the state of Qatar and its international responsibility.
