Qatar is organizing the 2030 Asian Games

The State of Qatar has won the honor of hosting the 2030 Asian Games at the Olympic General Assembly of Asia, which took place in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, Wednesday 16 December 2020.
Based on a previous agreement, Saudi Arabia was given the honor to host the 2034 edition, after the Olympic Council of Asia’s voting process.
This is the second time for the State of Qatar to host the Asian Games after hosing in 2006, while it would be the first time for Saudi Arabia in 2034.
The President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, thanked those who are in charge the Doha and Riyadh files, for their keenness to host the Asian Games and the great work they did to the Olympic movement in Asia.
Sheikh Al-Fahad said that sport is the best example that express the spirit of friendship and solidarity, it is always pioneering in all sectors, therefore we decided that the winner will organize the Games in 2030, while the second place holder will organize the Games in 2034, in this way there is no loser."
